Originally in honor of Pales (god of shepherds!), Roma celebrated the Palilia on April 21. Since this is the day Romulus started building the city of Roma, the Palilia or Parilia came to be the celebration of Roma's birthday. Happy 2760th Birthday, Roma! Whoo-hoo!
